Affiliate Programs and Marketing tops other Internet Marketing somewhat, because affiliates use regular advertising methods. These methods include organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO), paid Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Email Marketing, and Display Advertising. Nevertheless, affiliates still use less orthodox techniques, such as Publishing Reviews of products or services. Affiliate marketing uses one website to drive traffic to another website. Vendors or existing customers can also become recruits as long as it does not violate any laws or regulations. Just about all websites can be recruited as an affiliate publisher. High-traffic websites are likely to be more interested in low-risk cost per mille or medium-risk cost per click deals over higher-risk cost per action or revenue share deals.

There are three primary ways to locate affiliate programs for a target website:

1) Affiliate program directories.

2) Large affiliate networks that provide the platform many advertisers, and

3) The target website itself.
